Reaching Out, Growing Close, Changing Lives

~ The last week of March is Holy Week and we again will have Holy Thursday and Good Friday services at 7pm.  On Holy Thursday along with many other events we remember the Last Supper.  On Good Friday we remember Christ’s crucifixion for our sins on the cross.

~ New Members Class. If you are interested in joining the church please let Pastor Glen know.

~ Help Wanted for CGKidz Group and Nursery on Wednesday Nights.  We currently are in need of someone to lead the Kidz Group and serve in the nursery on Wednesday nights.  Both of these are important ministries not only in teaching our children about Jesus but in having an activity where adults involved in the Youth Group and who attend the Women’s Bible Study can have their children watched.  In the nursery you just watch the kids and for the Kidz Group you do a little Bible lesson, organize some kind of game for the kids to play, and/or do some sort of craft such as coloring in Bible pictures or whatever.  When we have new families come with their children on Wednesday night to dinner it is vital that we have activities for all ages.  If you are interested or are willing to help, please contact Pastor Glen (Note: if you are concerned about the teaching the kids part, Pastor Glen will assist you in this.)

~ The once a month study has started and is on The Women of the Bible. The class will run from January-May 2018. See details below under "Study The Word".

~ Wednesday Night Dinners & Activities! Come out each Wednesday and join us for some good food and fellowship at 6pm and then stay after for women’s Bible study, youth group, or kids group at 7pm.

~ Our new live streaming is a real blessing at Cedar Grove!  If you know of anyone that can't make it to church in person on a Sunday, then please invite them to visit online via cgumc.org/live.

~ The Tuesday morning Bible study continues. All are invited to join us at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays.

~ Have you noticed that the Scripture reading on Sunday mornings is now often done by lay people?  If you would like to read the Scriptures on any given Sunday please let Pastor Glen know.  If someone has not already taken that day, the office will send you an email with the text so you will be ready on Sunday or the pastor always has a printed version of the text at the pulpit.
~ If you would like offering envelopes, please contact the Church office at 410-867-7417 or by email at office@cgumc.org.

~ If your address, phone number, or email address has changed recently, please notify the church office.  Thank you.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study – Pastor Glen has a 10am bible study on Tuesday mornings. The group meets in the Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome to attend. Just stop on by the study or contact the office.

The Women of the Bible Once a Month Study. This study meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm and the Monday prior at 10:00 am thus enabling those who prefer daytime or evening to come to the study. The first class will be January 15 or 16 depending on which one you will attend.  In this class we will look at a number of the important passages/stories in the Bible where women play a prominent roll. The stories are usually fairly straightforward and are very important in the Bible’s message to us. At this point we will have a class on the mothers of our faith, women of faith, the not so good women of the Old Testament, a look at the important un-named women, and the women of the New Testament.  At the end of the five classes we will discuss how fair or unfair the Bible is in terms of its treatment of women as compared to men.  If you have any questions please contact Pastor Glen.
